LTDO 5th Chili Cook-off December 8th

Please join us on Monday evening, December 8th, from 6:00 to 9:00 at the BubbleHouse Brewing Co., 2121 Ogden Avenue in Lisle for this year’s Lisle Township Democratic Organization Holiday celebration.

We want to bring together all who make this organization work, and also hope some of you will test your culinary skills and sign up to bring a traditional or veggie chili, cornbread, or handheld dessert to the event. For those of you who are adventurous, maybe you’ll want to enter a non-traditional chili. Let’s have fun with this category, and think outside of the box.

Tickets are $30 for individuals, $10 for Young Democrats (ages 18-28), and free for those under age 18 when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are discounted by $10 for those who bring a Chili entry. Sign up at secure.actblue.com/donate/ltdochili2025.

Wine and several delicious beers brewed at BubbleHouse will be available for purchase. LTDO will provide soda and water for non-beer drinkers.

If you are bringing any kind of food, please reply here to help us plan: bit.ly/LTDOchili.

If you have questions, contact Diane Hewitt at 630-776-2324.

All proceeds will go to support LTDO programs. We look forward to seeing you there!

Membership Meeting This Monday, Nov. 10

Greetings Everyone!

How about those November 4th Election Day results?? Democrats across the country were energized and pitched in to help in those important Swing State races. Independents turned out too, and even some Republicans had second thoughts and switched sides or stayed home.

Many of us wrote postcards for Abigail Spannberger in Virginia, or the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, or Mikey Sherrill in New Jersey. Many of us donated $$ and made phone calls and text messages… AND IT WORKED! Thank you to all who took the time to help push Democrats and Democratic proposals (Prop 50) across the finish line.

We meet next Monday, November 10 at 6:30 PM at the Naperville Municipal Center to look back at what we’ve accomplished and plan how to move forward. Our local, County and State-wide candidate and PC petitions have been filed and we are getting ready for the 2026 primary. The agenda is at go.ltdo.org/nov-agenda.

Patrick Watson will join us at our LTDO meeting and talk about opportunities to become active in fighting Trump’s authoritarianism, ICE illegal actions, and the Republican party’s move towards Fascism.

Don’t miss it!

Help Lisle Township’s Food Pantry

Anticipated cuts to SNAP benefits could have a significant impact on families across Illinois, exacerbating food insecurity during a time when many are already struggling with rising costs. Loss of these benefits means many Lisle Township residents risk losing access to basic nutrition.

Together, we can fight hunger!

Are you looking for ways to help your local community members in need? The Food Pantry relies on community contributions to stock our shelves. Support from our community is critical now. No tax dollars are used to purchase food items. Any donation (big or small) is always appreciated!

We are always accepting donations of the following unexpired and unopened items: Applesauce, Canned or Fresh Meats, Canned or Fresh Vegetables/Fruits, Cooking Oils/Butter, Crackers, Dried Herbs and Spices, Instant Potatoes, Nuts, Pasta and Sauces, Rice, Soups, Formula, Personal Hygiene Items, Toilet Paper, Laundry Detergent, and Baby and Adult Diapers.

Cash and check donations are also accepted for bulk food purchases. Checks for monetary donations can be made out to “Lisle Township Foundation.” All donations can be dropped off at the Lisle Township Supervisor’s Office located at 4711 Indiana Avenue during regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please check in with the receptionist when dropping off so your items can be promptly added to the Food Pantry inventory for distribution. If you have any questions, please call our office at (630) 968-2087.

Together, we can ensure everyone has food on the table this season.
