Indiana GOP rejects Trump’s map in major blow to his gerrymandering push

Indiana Republicans … INDIANA REPUBLICANS!! … rejected a redistricting map that would have carved up the Gary and Indianapolis regions and guaranteed them 100% of Indiana’s congressional seats.

“The GOP-controlled state Senate on Thursday voted down 31 to 19 the map that would have gerrymandered two more safe red seats, imperiling the party’s chances at holding control of Congress next November.”

Alexandra Petri addresses the woke font crisis!

Excerpt from her article in The Atlantic:

Marco Rubio here, with an important announcement: No more Calibri in official State Department communications! Get out of here with your ungarnished lines and provocatively naked terminals! The Biden administration may have shot the serif*, switching from Times New Roman on the grounds that serif-less fonts such as Calibri are more accessible to readers with disabilities. That’s all over now.

* Emphasis mine. What a glorious pun.

Help Lisle Township’s Food Pantry

Are you looking for ways to help your local community members in need? The Food Pantry relies on community contributions to stock our shelves. Support from our community is critical now. No tax dollars are used to purchase food items. Any donation (big or small) is always appreciated!

Anticipated cuts to SNAP benefits could have a significant impact on families across Illinois, exacerbating food insecurity during a time when many are already struggling with rising costs. Loss of these benefits means many Lisle Township residents risk losing access to basic nutrition. Together, we can fight hunger!

We are always accepting donations of the following unexpired and unopened items: Applesauce, Canned or Fresh Meats, Canned or Fresh Vegetables/Fruits, Cooking Oils/Butter, Crackers, Dried Herbs and Spices, Instant Potatoes, Nuts, Pasta and Sauces, Rice, Soups, Formula, Personal Hygiene Items, Toilet Paper, Laundry Detergent, and Baby and Adult Diapers.

Cash and check donations are also accepted for bulk food purchases. Checks for monetary donations can be made out to “Lisle Township Foundation.” All donations can be dropped off at the Lisle Township Supervisor’s Office located at 4711 Indiana Avenue during regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please check in with the receptionist when dropping off so your items can be promptly added to the Food Pantry inventory for distribution. If you have any questions, please call our office at (630) 968-2087.
