All Democrats are welcome!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!

We hope everyone’s New Year is better than anticipated, filled with joy, peace, and success. There is so much to be thankful, grateful, and hopeful about. Without your support, we would not have the local Democrats elected and doing all sorts of great public works up and down the ballot. Without your support, we would be out of luck and overwhelmed when looking at the national and local political situations. We have done so much to change our community together, but there is much more to do. I am immensely proud of what we have done as a team in Lisle Township Democratic Organization for the people of Lisle Township, over these many difficult years.

We in leadership want to be sure to properly thank and uplift our membership as we continue to grow. Please help us choose a few outstanding members for extra recognition at our next meeting. Please let us know who you think deserves recognition as the PC (https://go.ltdo.org/pc-of-the-year) or Member of the year (https://go.ltdo.org/member-of-the-year). This will be really hard as there are so many talented and caring people in Lisle Township Democratic Organization.

This year we will make a much more concerted effort to grow our membership, integrate them into our group as involved members, and continue to improve at what we do. Please stay tuned to our plans along those fronts. If you ever want to take a step up in your efforts, please fill in this form (https://go.ltdo.org/volunteerform) or contact me at 630-776-2324 or diahewitt@mail.com. You can expect a phone call or email coming from me personally as I really work for you all on a few levels. Together we can politically continue to make Lisle Township an even better place to live.

Thank you!

Diane Hewitt

Membership Renewal & Year-End Funding Appeal

2021 is almost over and it’s time to renew your membership if you haven’t already! As of now, dues payments are credited to 2022. For the first time in many years, we’ve increased our dues slightly. The new structure is:

Individual: $30

Household: $40

Election Judge/Student/Senior/Disabled: $15

  Renew Your Membership

Our treasury has been doing great compared to former years, but, the need for new funding never ends. Once again in 2022, we need to fight deep GOP cash coffers with our superb volunteers who require and deserve our generous support. Please consider a year-end gift to support us in these efforts.

 Make 2021 Year-End Donation

As always, you can sign up for a monthly contribution, which is much appreciated for the predictable income it provides.

 Make a Recurring Monthly Donation

As 2022 approaches, we are working hard at the grassroots level to get Democrats elected to local, state, and national offices. Your generous contribution will help provide the resources necessary to carry our candidates to victory.

Thank you!

Diane Hewitt, LTDO Chair

Campaign Season Delayed

The 2022 election cycle was delayed by the state legislature due to Trump delaying the census. The new primary will be on June 28, 2022.  Petitions will be from January 13-March 14 with lower numbers of signatures required than in previous years.

The most immediate consequence is that the “Campaign Bootcamp” previously announced here has been postponed until August 31st. More details will be provided here as soon as the rest of the new schedule is worked out.

It’s really awkward to expect new candidates to start 7 months before petitions but if anyone is interested in getting involved this summer there will be plenty of opportunities. Thanks for your patience!

Keep Your Footing

This weather is treacherous so please be careful and think about getting Yak Traks for walking on ice even to your car in your driveway.(essentially tire chains for your feet). They have saved my posterior and bones many a time. You can get them from Ace Hardware: https://www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/workwear-and-safety-gear/safety-and-work-footwear/8222994.

One of our longtime PCs and candidate is in the hospital with multiple broken bones after falling while dropping literature.  A number of PCs have had Covid so please Take Care OF YOU!   Please reach out if you need anything.  We are a team of people that do care about each other as individuals and we sometimes need to lean in. These are crazy, challenging times but I know we are up to the challenge.
