LTDO Membership Meeting this Monday, Oct. 12th

Our next Membership Meeting is October 12th from 6:30–8:30 p.m. (sharp) at the Naperville Municipal Building in the LUNCHROOM. The entrance is the corridor next to the door to lower-deck parking.

We will be hosting a Countywide Office Forum for the Regional Superintendent of Schools for Dupage County Rebecca Gamboa, County Treasurer Yeena Yoo, Sheriff Pete Coolidge, and President of the Forest Preserve Daniel Hebreard. Please help us address your concerns and submit questions for us to ask our guests. Here are helpful links as to what these positions oversee:

County Treasurer: linkedin.com/showcase/dupage-county-treasurer-s-office/about

Forest Preserve:

  • Board Leadership: Presides over meetings of the Board of Commissioners, guiding discussions and coordinating policy decisions among commissioners representing the six distinct geographic county districts. [1]
  • Executive Oversight: Works directly with the agency’s chief administrative officer—the Executive Director (such as Anamari Golf Dorgan)—to ensure board priorities, resolutions, and directives are properly administered. [1, 2]
  • Fiscal and Policy Stewardship: Acts as a public representative and fiscal guardian for the district, balancing conservation, education, and recreation goals while managing taxpayer resources. [1]
  • Appointments and Governance: Collaborates with or seeks consent from the Board of Commissioners to make official appointments (such as leadership or commission positions) and handle administrative governance matters. [1]

Sheriff’s Office:
The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for enforcing the law and keeping the community safe.

  • Law Enforcement & Patrol Bureau: Deputies patrol the unincorporated areas of the county, respond to emergency calls throughout the county, enforce state and county laws, and manage specialized units like Crisis Intervention and investigations. Also assist other departments within the county.
  • Corrections Bureau: The office operates the DuPage County Correctional Center, maintaining secure custody and care of inmates while offering programs such as periodic imprisonment and the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program. Makes sure inmates get a second chance through Just of DuPage. Provides access to mental health services, medical care, and prescribed medication.
  • Court Security: Deputies provide comprehensive security and safety for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court system, the public, and judges. Also make arrests when necessary.
  • Community Resource & Liaison Units: Neighborhood Liaison Officers collaborate with homeowners’ associations, run crime prevention and youth safety programs, and manage community outreach programs.
  • Records & Investigations: The Records Division manages incident reports, booking files, and Freedom of Information Act requests, while specialized investigators handle complex criminal cases, sex offender tracking, and evidence management.

Please send your questions to johneccleston1@gmail.com; our committee (John Eccleston, Diane Hewitt, and me) will work to incorporate them into the program.
